Welcome Jackie Powell

Jackie Powell is thrilled to join the Ute Pass Elementary School and Manitou Springs School District team as the new UPES Principal! Jackie grew up in Illinois where she attended Eastern Illinois University for a bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a dual endorsement in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. After teaching for 6 years in Illinois, Jackie moved to the Ute Pass area. She then obtained a Gifted Education specialist license and a master’s degree in Culturally Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) from CSU-Pueblo. She received the principal’s licensure through Wester State University.

Mountain Academy
The Mountain Academy for Arts and Sciences is a full-day, sixth grade experience at Ute Pass Elementary School located in Chipita Park, Colorado. Our unique size and setting allows our class to learn and experience a variety of topics throughout the school year. 2021-2022 will be the 8th year that Manitou Springs School District 14 has offered this program!

BOE Work Session August 11, 2022
Work Session 5:00pm


Any member of the community who would like to participate in Public Comment will need to email Kendal Kelly ([email protected]) by 5:15 p.m. on the day of the meeting. She will then email you a link to join the meeting. When it is time for Public Comment, you will have 3-minutes to speak to the Board of Education.
